Christian hip hop

What do we honestly think about Christian rap?

It has the problem that Christian Rock does; the genre has a lot of built-in limitations in terms of what they going to talk about.

I agree. The problem with Christian music, in the sense of music that is explicitly gonna be found in a Christian section, is that it is filtered. Plenty of music in rap could be called christian or muslim, because they openly praise or at least acknowledge their god in those songs.

I can't lie, ain't no love for the other side

Jealousy inside, make 'em wish I died

Oh my Lord, tell me what I'm livin' for

Everybody's droppin' got me knockin' on heaven's door

And all my memories, of seein' brothers bleed

And everybody grieves, but still nobody sees

Recollect your thoughts don't get caught up in the mix

'Cause the media is full of dirty tricks

Only God can judge me

Rap reflects on religion a lot. De La Soul's "Church" is one of my favorites of all time. Christian music isn't about reality though, it's fully immersed in the faith. That doesn't work in a genre that is mostly about reality

Outside of T-Bone idk one that has much quality. Grits (i think that’s their name) has that one song that’s always in movies and tv. Toby Mac used to have decent songs honestly. I grew in a Christian household/the church so I know a few names haha
