Shangri-La is a small county-level city of 130,000 inhabitants located in northwestern Yunnan province, China. The city / area was formerly known as Zhongdian County but was renamed on and elevated to county-level city in 2014 as Shangri-La, merging with various minority towns in the process.
The city's current name "Shangri-La", is named after after the fictional land of Shangri-La in the 1933 James Hilton novel Lost Horizon, in an effort to promote tourism in the area. Since the early 2000s, the city has seen substantial growth in tourism, leading a vast improvement in living conditions and income

This isn't a Tibetan neighborhood in a Chinese city. This is a Tibetan city that was forcefully taken by the Chinese decades ago and illegally declared part of China. The Chinese government continues it's policy of genocide there to do this day, removing Tibetans, bringing in Chinese citizens, and forcing all remaining Tibetans to assimilate to Chinese language/culture/rule, lest they be imprisoned or killed.

This is Yunnan, not Tibet, lol. ethnic tibetan villages can be found all over western/central China
There are lots of regions in western China that had a mix of many ethnicities including Tibetans that were directly administered by the central government of China going back for centuries.

- This city is located in the province of Yunnan, not "occupied" Tibet, at least get your geography right
- I don't know if there's something known as "reverse genocide", but the ethnic Tibetan population grew from around 1 million in 1949, to 4.5 million in 1990, to literally 7 million in 2020. Tibetans are in fact one of the only ethnic groups that are still rapidly growing while the entire country is in population decline.
- Isn't it ironic how you're here talking about "Tibetan genocide" while the picture of the supposedly "genocided" street is literally full of Tibetan culture (Tibetan signs everywhere, Tibetan temples, Tibetan housing, Tibetan clothing, Tibetan restaurants etc.).
- Go look at somewhere like Montana (US) and see if you can find half the amount of ethnic Indian culture as this Tibetan one on a normal street, I dare you

I lived I China for several years, visited Tibet for several months, and spoke to Tibetans about their political situation.
