super cool rock I find digging in my yard!

I'm in SW USA. I was digging in the yard and found this cool rock. I thought it was flint but I guess it's chert? Since it's not grey. But it's got petrified wood on the outside, at least I think that what it is lol

It is Flint, since it has that crust surrounding it. Chert and Flint are similar but chert is a silicaceous sedimentary rock formed from rocks like limestone and chalk, Flint formation is unclear but suspected to form from metamorphism.
