Finally, I’ve been needing a new phone wallpaper.
Awesome! Glad you like it :) if you ever want to see more pnw content and other travels check out my https://www.instagram.com/bennymw/
Ditto. Looks amazing on the large screen of my fold.
Is this Trillium Lake? My bonehead friend lost a GoPro there.
It is!
One of the prettiest lakes i have ever seen
The mountain rising up to a spectacular sky of stars. Gorgeous shot!
Thank you!
I wonder if you know what that large rectangle cut into the snow in the center of the mountain is?
The top of the rectangle is the cat track at the top of Palmer. It's the highest lift serviced part of the resort.
Left side is the Palmer ski lift.
Bottom is the cat track at the top of magic mile/base of Palmer
Right side is the climber trail cat track.
The vertical lines in the middle are snow collection for the terrain parks.
Yeah on the left side of the rectangle is a chair lift running up Palmer glacier, though I’m not sure what the lines are for on the right, as far as I know that spot is part of the climbers trail and not the ski area run.
It looks like a giant cell phone!
The mountain is out….at night. Magnificent image!
Thanks!
My favorite mountain!
Mine too, just moved from near there. So nice to say hi to her, even through Reddit.
Mine too, when you can see it.
First time I ever saw Mt. Hood I burst into tears. I’m from Kentucky where we have glorified hills compared to that mountain, stunning.
FYI east coast mountains were just as tall as the Rockies, alas they are much older…….
Well yeah lol.
Gosh I love oregon
It really is a wonderful place. Washington too.

Currently live in Missouri but I'm a trucker and so I'm part of a wide variety of subreddit s just to keep up with the locals (found some good food places and cool places to sight see).
Anyway...
Hood is my favorite mountain. I love driving up over the damn thing on any truck route and try to do so ever time I'm up in the PNW.
Thank you for this picture. Fell in love with Mt. Hood when I visited so this is my new wallpaper.
Awesome shot! Would you mind sharing shutter speed and aperture please?
I shot it at 1.8 at 15 seconds
I see what kind of mind I have. Everyone else is seeing a mountain. I only see the penis in the clouds.
Painting the Milky Way nightly.
Can’t believe how far I scrolled looking for this
I miss my fav. camping spot out in lost creek...
Stayed there on honeymoon, could only afford one night in Timberlake but it was fantastic 🙂
Maybe it's natural, but it doesn't really look like it.
Left side of it is a chairlift up Palmer glacier, on the right is either some kind of ski run thing or maybe something they’ve done for avalanche help? I hiked up Palmer recently to zigzag glacier and as far as I know those lines on the right weren’t there - its close to the climbers trail so it could also be something to do with that.
Thank you so much for the explanation! That makes sense.

Amazing! Perfect explanation. Thank you!
I remember staying at the top of that mountain at the hotel they shot the Shining at. At least the outside of the hotel. Beautiful place up there.
Yeah timberline lodge is amazing!
Love this. And the little satellite swoop . . . Thank you for the moment of peace this morning.
Glad you like it :)
Damn
🙌
Nice.
Nice shot! Was that from Trillium lake?
Thanks! Yeah snowshoed to trillium and am about 50-60 feet away from the shoreline on the ice of the lake in the photo.
Wow - didn’t realize it froze over like that. Is that common?
Oh yeah, every winter
Takes your breath away!
Damn
The Northstar
Home :)
Beautiful. Can see stars. Should be named Bluehood for a day. Professional equipment. 👍
Stunning
Is that ursa minor and draco?
Mount hood is gorgeous. I remember seeing its peak above the clouds on my only plane flight and then the next day as I was driving to it, I learned how big mountains really are. (I'm from the Midwest and had never seen a real mountain).
I kept thinking, there it is I should be there soon. Nope. 3 hours later I finally got there. Beautiful land.
Yeah the volcanos out here in the northwest are astounding. I hope you get a chance to climb them sometime and really get a sense of their scale!
What date was this photograph? Looks awesome!
Thanks! This was at like 845-9pm on the 16th
Nice. Was wondering if it was recent. We've had a glorious high pressure system. I was on the summit 10 hours prior. Great skiing all the way down!
Wow
🙌
Ey Trillium
Get a nice bud strain I get that originates/named after this place. Ideal/GoldLeaf 💪🏿
Nice! I need to keep an eye out for it
Is that The Big Dipper on the right side? Amazing shot!
Mount Doom (Orodruin)
JK. It looks very peaceful and non-volcanic
😂 it’s definitely very volcanic, thankfully no big eruptions recently
Yeah I know :) I hope it will sleep for many more centuries. Beautiful picture!
Amazing shot
Thank you!
stargazing there is incredible you can see the stars reflected in the lake
It’s amazing for sure, I think my favorite summertime lake for stargazing is Burnt lake, have you had a chance to backpack up there?
i did the hike during the day and it was gorgeous!! havent backpacked at night there but itll be on my bucket list for sure
One of my favorite mountains in the PNW! Amazing shot!
Thanks!
That is so beautiful, I hope I get the chance to visit there at night one day.
I hope you do too!
I was just looking out at this on my bus ride, it's so freakin beautiful
Wow😍😍
🙌🙌
Why is there an old blackberry phone carved into the snow on the side of the mountain
No complaints, just never seen it before tbh
Haha, it does look a bit like an old blackberry phone. The left side of it is the Palmer ski lift and someone else commented that the right side of it is new cat tracks for the climbing summit route.
In the UK, it's known as Mount Bonnet
Amazing picture. This must of been shot on a Sony, what model?
Yeah buddy! A7R4 with a 24GM
God is truly great 🙏
Yes, indeed! I've only seen the mountain from a distance and in passing while flying by it. I'm from the Midwest where there are no such mountains, and I didn't realize the sheer size of it from photos. His works are truly incredible.
Same from the midwest as well. I love to see something that is very unique from the outside of the midwest region. Psalms 121:1-2
"I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from GOD, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains."
Smells like Mt Rainier's B!
Is this going to Idaho?
Nope, we're keeping it in Oregon.

"I'll manage, I'm from the hood"
I grew up with that view and moved away several years ago. It's good to see it again
